My Life, My Future

Customised employment pathways

Diverse learning experiences Unique electives 1:1 coaching

My Life, My Future is a vocational program for young people with a disability.

We’ll work with you to build a customized pathway to employment that empowers and supports you to achieve your goals.

Gain exposure to different jobs, workplaces and industries so you can make informed decisions about your future.

Program elements

My Life, My Future supports you to strengthen independent living skills in all elements of the program. These skills range from digital literacy and understanding money to public transport training, fire and emergency safety awareness and other daily living tasks. The targeted vocational program elements are as follows:

Employability skills training

Did you know 75% of employers value soft skills just as much as technical skills when recruiting?
In our weekly classroom-based training sessions you will develop employability skills such as communication (listening and understanding), teamwork, problem-solving, planning and organising, punctuality, time management and creativity among many more.

Industry Immersion

Industry Immersion provides you with hands-on experience in different jobs across a wide range of industries to build your knowledge of the job market and employability skills requirements.
With a large network of industry partners supporting our program, Industry Immersion includes guided tours and hands-on activities in various workplaces, employer guest speakers and mock interviews.

Project-based skills development

Build confidence and achieve goals by seeing tasks through to completion in the project-based skills element of My Life, My Future.
All projects, designed and delivered by My Life, My Future participants, give you the opportunity to not only explore your creativity, but also to practice invaluable skills such as leadership and resilience.

Individual coaching

In our one-hour weekly coaching sessions, we take the experiential learning you’ve achieved in group-based activities and work with you to consolidate that learning, further develop skills in areas where additional support is beneficial, and build a customised pathway to employment.

Practical work experience

Work placements will be offered to you as an elective component of the My Life, My Future program. We work with you to explore jobs that interest you and match you with suitable industry partners offering work experience. All work experience placements are supported by a disability support worker, either 1:1 or in small groups depending on the nature of the placement.

“I am incredibly grateful for…

the outstanding dedication and excellence demonstrated by Jeetinder who has been a fantastic influence on my son. Jeetinder and Nadrasca have truly gone above and beyond in creating a positive learning environment where my son, Vishal, has thrived.
The work experience with Dyne Industries Nadrasca organised for Vishal gave him an amazing experience and the confidence to look for full-time employment. I would like to thank Nadrasca and the My Life, My Future team for the continued support for Vishal in his training”
