Supported Employment

Working at Nadrasca Industry

Nadrasca Industry provides supported employment opportunities for participants with appropriate funding with our commercial business activities across commercial printing, warehouse and logistics, wire fabrication, packing and packaging services, and more. Participants are supported to not only gain experience and develop skills specific to these industries, but also to develop skills more generally for employment. As Nadrasca Industry provides a wide range of services, this provides the opportunity for participants to work in a wide range of roles, each with different skills to learn and develop.

Some of the areas that participants may gain transferable experience and skills are in:

  • Developing a good work practice
  • Work Health and Safety
  • Work relationships
  • Following instructions
  • Communicating needs
  • Quality control

Employees are provided feedback for how they are progressing in each area and in various tasks, and are assisted to set their goals for skills development based on this as well as their own aspirations. Each employee has an individual plan to help them to get the most out of the experience of being employed at Nadrasca.

As well as the specific skills development for their individual plans, Nadrasca provides monthly training for employees in areas useful not only to working at Nadrasca, but also for progressing to open employment, should they desire to do so. Some of the training sessions scheduled for 2020 will cover topics on:

  • Smoking, drugs and alcohol
  • Harassment and bullying
  • Work safety
  • Rights, and how to make a complaint
  • Respectful relationships and more

Employment at Nadrasca helps participants to gain both financial and social independence, and to feel that they are a valued part of their community.
